1.0 Background and introduction
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Pathfinder International (PI) in Tanzania are jointly implementing an integrated Project known as TUUNGANE which is addressing Collaborative Fisheries Management in a Population-Health-Environment (PHE) approach for fisher communities living in 23 coastal villages along Lake Tanganyika in Kigoma and Katavi region.
One of the project goals is to achieve sustainable fisheries through among others, formations and capacity building of Beach Management Units (BMUs) to better protect freshwater ecology and
conserve biodiversity. Currently 10 out 23 BMUs have been demarcated (under Tuungane support) using plastic floaters (buoys) where there is an improved fisheries management practices and friction has reduced amongst fishermen and other water users which is part of fisheries co-management. Under this tender, Tuungane Program invites the tenderers to supply new plastic buoys, Galvanized metal chain and Nylon ropes

2.0 Specifications
2.1: New plastic buoys:
Quantity: 150 new buoys of 450 mm, or 100 buoys of 500 mm or 80 buoys of 600 mm in diameter.
Colour: Marine yellow painted
2.2: Galvanized metal chain of 6 mm thick: 1500 meters
2.3: Nylon ropes: 30 rolls of 18 mm nylon ropes by 100 yards (90 m).

3.0 Duration of the work and application process
This tender will live for 2 months from the date of signing the contract.
This tender announcement will close 2 weeks after the announcement.
Contract award for successful applicants will be one week after the closure of the tender announcement

4.0 Required competence for applying NGOs/firms/Institutions
Registration: NGOs/firms/Institutions applying for this tender must be legally registered (Brella, TRA, with Business license)

Experience: An applying NGOs/firms/Institutions must be a dealer of plastic fishing buoys, fishing gears, galvanized chains and fishing Nylon ropes or have experts specialized in those supplies

5.0 Expression of interest
The expressions of interest will be evaluated against a set of weighted criteria and the leading consultant (firm or organization) will be invited for a contract negotiation with TNC.
Selection criteria: will include complete registration, experience, fair and competitive price, work and financial capacity

Interested NGOs/firms/Institutions that meet the requirements above should send a letter (through an email) of “expression of interest” to happiness.urassa@TNC.ORG detailing: estimated itemized budget for the items to be supplied, transport plan and associated costs and expected delivery date.
