Established in 2012, Energio Verda Africa (EVA) is a consultancy firm focused around GIS-based mapping and local project implementation support. With extensive experience particularly in the renewable energy sector, we help our clients to identify opportunities and execute their projects in the most efficient way possible through renewable energy and GIS consultancy. Recently, EVA has extended its activities into the small-scale mining sector. EVA is seeking a full-time (Monday to Saturday) bookkeeper with a passion for numbers to join its Dar es Salaam, Tanzania office. Candidates should have 5 years of bookkeeping experience, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, show a high attention to details and have knowledge of bookkeeping applications such as XERO, QuickBooks and other applications.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day transactions
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and XERO
- Update and maintain the general ledger
- Reconciliation of entries into accounting system
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Recording of debits and credits
- Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers
- Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes
- Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the management
- Coordinating internal and external audits
- Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements

- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Data entry, record keeping and computer operation skills
- High attention to details
- Produce work with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness
- Professionalism and organization skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and bookkeeping applications such as XERO and QuickBooks Online
Qualifications
- Tanzanian national
- Degree in accounting/finance
- CPA is a plus but not a requirement
Compensation
- Gross salary and benefits of TZS 2,200,000 per month
